The Chicago Bears Den Podcast: Bears Beat Chiefs in Preseason Opener
The Bears’ first preseason game has ended with Matt Eberflus earning his first victory. There’s so much to unpack here, it took up most of the episode. There was a lot of great stuff from some unexpected sources like Trestan Ebner, Jack Sanborn, and Trevon Coley. There were also some disappointing performances by Dazz Newsome and Lamar Jackson. That can’t be good with the first round of roster cuts coming Tuesday.
Bill Kelsey and I break down the game, hand out awards, good and bad, dig into the continual circus that is Roquan Smith and his contract negotiation, then we wrap up with our preview of the Bears/Seahawks game that kicks off Thursday at 7:00 PM CT.
The last time the Bears were in Seattle, the game ended dramatically after a missed field goal by the Seahawks and Nick Foles, Jimmy Graham, and Damiere Byrd (all no longer with the team) leading a late game score and two-point conversion that held up. We cover a lot in this episode but for all of the news we didn’t get to, check out Monday’s Camp Notes. Share the love, share the pod, and Bear Down!
