Chicago Bears Injury Updates: Bobby Massie Placed on IR, Jason Spriggs and Germain Ifedi on COVID-19 List
The hits just keep on coming for a Bears offensive line that couldn’t afford any more issues. Earlier reports said tackle Bobby Massie would miss a month with a knee injury suffered during the loss to the Saints and the team announced Tuesday that he has been placed on injured reserve. But that’s not all, as tackle Jason Spriggs and guard Germain Ifedi have been placed on the COVID-19 list.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Spriggs tested positive and Ifedi was considered a high-risk close contact. Ifedi does still have a chance to play on Sunday against the Titans provided he continues to test negative.
#Bears OT Jason Spriggs tested positive for COVID-19, source said. In addition, G Germain Ifedi was determined to be a high-risk close contact, and while he’ll go on the list, he does have a chance to be back and play on Sunday.

Rookie lineman Lachavious Simmons has been promoted from the practice squad to the active roster and lineman Aaron Neary has been signed to the practice squad to maintain a little depth. The way things are going, the Bears are going to need every bit of that just to tread water.
So much for the idea of benching Rashaad Coward, huh?
