Justin Fields Out For Jets Game
Justin Fields is not going to start Sunday’s game in New York according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Back up quarterback Trevor Siemian will get the starting nod against the Jets.
Justin Fields, listed as questionable for Sunday due to his separated shoulder, is not expected to play vs. the Jets, per sources. Bears are expected to start QB Trevor Siemian, and the team also promoted Nathan Peterman from the practice squad Saturday to serve as the backup QB.

This move was strongly hinted at when Nathan Peterman was promoted to the active roster from the practice squad to serve as a potential back up quarterback. Fields suffered a separated left shoulder in the game against the Falcons and was a game-time decision for this week.
Siemian, a Northwestern alum, is not a great option at quarterback and the Bears odds of winning go down significantly with him under center. Still, this is a smart move with the franchise quarterback injured and a chance to improve Chicago’s spot in the draft if losses continue to pile up.
