Watch: Bears Offense Hitting Its Stride
The Bears dropped their latest edition of the Jeff Joniak-narrated 1920 Halas Drive, and one thing is certain, and that’s that the collective mindset is to win the NFC North. That’s the goal of the front office and the coaching staff, and the players are on board too. Head coach Matt Eberflus wants the team to visualize their goals and then achieve them.
The offense starts with Justin Fields, and the organization has upgraded his weaponry and bolstered his protection. Teven Jenkins, who’s moving from right to left guard, is part of that protection. Rookie offensive tackle Darnell Wright is turning heads in practice, too. D.J. Moore and Chase Claypool are the big guns in the wide receiver room. Claypool “wants to prove his supporters right and his doubters wrong.”
Darnell Mooney is coming back from an injury and he’s part of that enhanced weaponry, too. The Bears had one of the NFL’s better offenses when Fields and Mooney were healthy. The addition of Moore, a full season with Claypool, and a triumvirate of running backs that includes Khalil Herbert, D’Onta Foreman, and rookie Roschon Johnson. Don’t forget about tight ends Cole Kmet, Robert Tonyan, and Marcedes Lewis.
The defense is also making progress, too. That unit, and this week’s practices against the Colts, will be the focus of the next episode in the series. You can see all of the episodes on the team’s YouTube channel.
You’ll also get a look at some highlights from Chicago’s preseason win over the Titans.
The offense enters its second year under coordinator Luke Getsy, which is another positive. Look for big things on the offensive side of the ball, and enjoy the latest episode of 1920 Halas Drive.
